No Food Waste – Wedding Food for a Cause

Food wastage is a serious problem all around the world with no one easy solution. One Indian man is doing his part to address the issue. In 2014, Padmanaban Gopalan started No Food Waste — a nonprofit that helps redistribute untouched food from weddings and other events to the needy. What began as a local initiative in the southern Indian city of Coimbatore, has now spread to more than 10 localities throughout the country. So far, the completely volunteer-run network has served over 320,000 people and saved over 100,000 Kgs of food. And it’s not done yet. You can volunteer in more than 10 cities or donate to No Food Waste here
